Enea Bastianini

The new colours of the bike are very particular, when I saw it first it appears a little strange to me, but now that I see it live I can say it is amazing. Such a great bike can’t be but fast! In about twenty days we’ll be leaving for the tests, luckily it is just a short time because I’m way too excited to be back on my Ducati. I already met the team during the first test: we had the chance to know each other better and to work together, and I can firmly say that I have a super team. I think it is going to be a very interesting season, I’m sure we’ll achieve great results. I can’t wait for the season to begin!

Bastianini close the season in Valencia in 8th

Enea Bastianini crossed the finish line in 8th position. The Italian, who had struggled throughout the weekend, managed to make a big step forward on Sunday that allowed him to make a great comeback. The Avintia Esponsorama Racing rider said goodbye to a great rookie year with two podium finishes and 11th place in the MotoGP world standings with 102 points.

I am happy with the race. I was able to overtake a lot, we showed a good pace and we got back to the speed we lacked yesterday. We didn’t get the rookie of the year, but it was more important for me to be fast and have a good race. Congratulations to Jorge for getting it, he did a great job but I would have liked to fight on equal terms.

Bastianini 9th in AlgarveGP

Enea Bastianini once again put in a great performance, where he was able to take 9th position after starting 13th. The Avintia Esponsorama Racing rider crossed the finish line in the top 10 again after a weekend where he has gone from less to more.

“It was a good race. I lost a few positions at the start, but then, step by step, I had a good pace which allowed me to come back. I’m happy with 9th position, because it was a difficult weekend in general. Next week in Valencia we will try to finish the season with a good result.”

Sensational podium finish for Bastianini at Misano

Enea Bastianini did it again. The Italian, who started 16th after yesterday’s qualifying, made a remarkable comeback, which allowed him to cross the finish line in an excellent 3rd position. With this result, Bastianini has taken his second podium in the premier class, after the one he achieved at Misano circuit in the last San Marino Grand Prix.

“Until Saturday, it was a terrible weekend for me. I was not happy with Friday and Saturday, especially FP4 and qualifying, where I had too many crashes. This morning, I started to find the right feeling and I managed to go fast without going to the limit. From the first lap, I felt comfortable and I had enough pace to be able to move up and gain positions. It was an unexpected result, but it’s great to repeat this third position in Misano. I want to congratulate Quartararo for the title.”

Bastianini 6th in Grand Prix of the Americas race

Enea Bastianini made a remarkable comeback. The Italian rider, who failed to close a good lap in qualifying, started 16th. After a good start, Bastianini was able to recover positions thanks to a great pace, to finish in a superb 6th position, getting another great result for him and for the team.

“It was another unexpected result. Yesterday we had a difficult day, but we knew that our potential on this track was quite high. I had a good race, and in the first laps I tried to recover some positions. I didn’t know if I would arrive to the end of the race, because I went to the maximum and it’s a really tough track. On the last lap I managed to overtake Mir and Miller and it was a lot of fun. We knew we could fight for the top 10, but we didn’t expect to get this 6th. Another great result and we will try to keep it going.”

Enea Bastianini 6th in Aragon Grand Prix race

Enea Bastianini, who crossed the finish line in a spectacular 6th position, achieved his best race result since his debut in the MotoGP class. The Italian had an intense fight in the third group of the race, from which he emerged victorious, and only 2 seconds separated him from the top 5.

It was a very enjoyable race. At the beginning I struggled in the corners, but from the middle of the race onwards I improved and from then on I started my comeback. It’s a pity that I lost a bit of time fighting with Quartararo and Nakagami, because maybe I could have caught Miller as well. Anyway, it was a race that exceeded my expectations. I think we showed great pace throughout the weekend and we’ll go to Misano in really motivated.

Bastianini in the points zone at the BritishGP

Enea Bastianini made a great comeback to score 4 points. The Italian was fighting to stay in the points throughout the race, but during the last five laps, he was able to impose a higher pace than his rivals, to recover several positions and finish 12th.

“I’m happy because I knew it wouldn’t be an easy race for me after the two heavy crashes we had, as I wasn’t 100%. I had a bad start, so I tried to be conservative at the beginning. In the middle of the race, I started to have a good pace, which allowed me to recover some positions. Overall I’m happy and we’ll go for more in Aragón.”

Bastianini retires under the Red Bull Ring rain

Unfortunately, Enea Bastianini had to retire due to technical problems. On the sixth lap, the fairing of his bike came off and he was unable to finish the race.

Unfortunately the bike fairing broke and I don’t know why. It’s frustrating because we were competitive and I think we could have had a good result, because yesterday in FP4 I had a very consistent pace. I hope that in the next races we will have more luck. I’m sure that sooner or later, luck will be on our side and we can get the results we deserve.

Bastianini scores points at the StyrianGP

Enea Bastianini have completed in the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg the race of the Michelin Grand Prix of Styria, where both riders have managed to cross the finish line in the points zone.

The race of the premier class has been declared in dry conditions. The race was marked by a red flag caused by a collision between Pedrosa and Savadori on the second lap, leaving the exit of Turn 3 full of fuel. The race was stopped for several minutes while maintenance and cleaning were carried out.

After the second start, Enea Bastianini has executed a great comeback, adding 4 valuable points. The Italian, with 13 laps to go, was penalised with a ‘long lap’ when he was in points positions for exceeding track limits, which caused him to lose some positions. Despite this, Bastianini has been able to recover places to ascend to the 12th position. The Avintia Esponsorama rider, is the 17th classified with 31 points.

Next week, the Avintia Esponsorama and the Sky VR46 Avintia will compete at the Red Bull Ring – Spielberg for the second consecutive grand prix, this time the Bitci Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich.

It was a very difficult race. We had a good pace and tried to recover positions, but unfortunately we suffered a penalty for exceeding the limits of the track. We have taken a good step forward and the qualifying was a shame because we deserved to be further ahead, but fortunately next week we have another race and we will have a new opportunity.
