Outstanding victory at Misano

A race of a thousand emotions for Italtrans Racing Team at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, that for the second weekend in a row hosted the MotoGP World Championship in a season overturned by the Coronavirus outbreak.

After the successes at the GP of Andalucia and the Czech Republic and the podiums in Qatar and Misano, today the team took another amazing victory with Enea Bastianini at the end of an outstanding double race.

Starting from the second row of the grid with the 5th best time scored in qualifying, Enea immediately fought for the first position against Bezzecchi, Dixon, Vierge and Marini. First on lap five with the right pace to run away, the appearance of rain on the sixth lap of the race led to a stoppage of several minutes and a restart over 10 laps in dry conditions. Even in race 2 Bastianini was magic. Once took the leadership, he tried to run away again, managing until the end the good gap and the dropping of the tyres. A beautiful, sweaty, deserved, desired victory, the third one this season. On the day when he collects his 30th podium in career, he confirms himself as one of the Moto2 top riders. Thanks to this win Enea strengthens the second position in the standings just 5 points from Marini.

Good race for Lorenzo Dalla Porta, who finished another growing weekend. After the excellent results of last Sunday, also today the Tuscan rider finished in the points. Despite some hesitation in the first laps, thanks to a good steady pace he finished 14th, confirming the good progress.

“What a race! I’m very happy because winning at home in front of my family and my fans has a special taste. In the first part I had a good pace and also in race 2 I was pushing: I chose a softer tyre, but after a couple of laps it started to drop and I thought the other riders were catching me. I pushed again and in the end I won. Thanks to the whole team and Italtrans for the great job!”.
